Doha, 9 November 2021 (TDI): The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia, Battsetseg Batmunkh is on a state visit to Qatar. On the first day of her visit, she met with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, Sheikh Muhammad bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani.

Bilateral Cooperation Expansion

During the meeting, the two counterparts discussed the bilateral relations as well as opportunities to expand cooperation for mutual benefit. The two exchanged views on collaboration in spheres of tourism, agriculture, education, defense, oil, and energy.

Aside from that, the two discussed the training of oil specialists and the financing of a kindergarten. Qatar will help to build the kindergarten. Both Foreign Ministers reaffirmed their commitment to joint collaboration in the form of the Mongolia-Qatar business forum in 2022.

Qatar-Mongolia Bilateral Ties

Qatar and Mongolia share mutually advantageous bilateral relations. In the latest diplomatic engagement between the two states, the Foreign Minister of Mongolia expressed her desire to attract investment from Qatari private organizations in major projects and programs.

Advance Felicitations for National Day of Mongolia

During the meeting, Sheikh Muhammad bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani also extended felicitations in advance for the National Day of Mongolia. Mongolia celebrates Republic Day on November 26th. It is also known as Proclamation Day. The day is celebrated to memorialize the proclamation of the Mongolian People’s Republic as well as the adoption of the first Constitution of Mongolia, in 1924.
