Tehran/Kuwait City, 26 July 2022 (TDI): The Ambassador of Iran to Kuwait, Mohammad Irani, announced that the Foreign Minister of Iran, Hossein Amir Abdollahian will visit the state of Kuwait soon.

The Iranian envoy to Kuwait further added that Tehran has also agreed to the appointment of a new Kuwaiti Ambassador to Iran as well. He further said that the new Kuwaiti Ambassador will leave for Tehran in the next few days.
Iranian envoy to Kuwait said that the bilateral relations between the two countries are strong, especially at the political level between Iranian and Kuwaiti officials.
Irani also said that the Foreign Ministers of both countries enjoy good ties. He further highlighted that the relations between the nations are historical and that these relations will only get better and wider.
Ambassador Irani also noted that there will be a good opportunity for a rapid expansion of bilateral relations with the presence of the Kuwaiti Ambassador in Iran.
He further said that due to this appointment, relations between the two countries will see an extension in various fields which is in the interest of both countries.
Iran has already agreed to the upcoming Kuwaiti Ambassador for over a month. Tehran is also ready to welcome the Ambassador as soon as he arrives and presents his credentials.
Iran-Kuwait Relations
Kuwait and Iran have longstanding historical ties that span over hundreds of years, and Kuwait still maintains friendly relations with Iran.
In August 2021, Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Ahmed Nasser Al-Mohammed Al-Sabah visited Tehran. During his visit, he met with Iran’s Foreign Minister, Mohammad Javad Zarif.
Both sides discussed bilateral ties and the latest situation in the region and other issues of mutual interest.
In addition to this, the top Kuwaiti diplomat was also in Tehran heading a delegation to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi at the time.
Also, Zarif praised the respectful, cordial, and close relations between Kuwait and Iran. Furthermore, he reviewed the extensive efforts made to enhance reciprocal ties.
In May 2022, Iranian President Raisi held a telephonic conversation with the Emir of Kuwait, Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
The President of Iran congratulated the Kuwaiti Emir on the people of his country on Eid al-Fitr. In their conversation, both leaders expressed their desire to host each other and discussed matters of mutual interest.
