Anji, 27 November 2021 (TDI): Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with the Danish Foreign Minister Jeppe Kofod. The two sides agreed to strengthen China-Denmark cooperation.
Chinese Foreign Minister stated that Denmark was one of the first countries to establish diplomatic relations with China. He highlighted that it is the only Nordic country to have a comprehensive partnership with China. He said that the China-Denmark relationship is one of the best examples of cooperation between countries with different systems.
Wang Yi emphasized that the two countries have strengthened their relations by enhancing cooperation and deepening mutual trust. He appreciated the Danish commitment to the One-China policy.
China-Denmark relations a win-win cooperation
He stressed that the China-Denmark relations are based on win-win cooperation. China is ready to work with Denmark on green development, he added. He said that the countries will continue to enjoy fruitful outcomes of their win-win cooperation.
Chinese Foreign Minister emphasized that the two countries will strengthen their cooperation in the fields of climate change, energy efficiency, water resource management, intellectual property rights, technological innovation, and food safety.

He also welcomed Danish products to the Chinese market. He stated that Denmark can get the benefit from the huge Chinese market. Wang also hoped that Denmark will provide a comfortable environment to the Chinese investors. He urged both sides to enhance their cultural exchanges by increasing people-to-people contacts.
Jeppe Kofod stated that Denmark is committed to the One-China principle. He said that Denmark is ready to provide full leverage to the Chinese companies. He emphasized that Denmark is an open economy. It welcomes the Chinese enterprises to invest in Denmark.
Danish Foreign Minister also conveyed good luck to the Chinese government for hosting Beijing Olympics. He said that Danish athletes will participate in the Beijing Olympics.
Jeppe Kofod said that Denmark admires the Chinese announcement of peaking carbon emissions and achieving carbon neutrality. He said that Denmark is ready to cooperate with China on climate change to achieve sustainable development.
The two sides also discussed Chinese relations with the European Union (EU). They agreed that safe China-EU relations are in the interests of the two sides.
The two counterparts discussed the international issues of mutual concern. They also talked about the recent developments in Afghanistan. The Foreign Minister of China pointed out the need to assist Afghanistan in the dire humanitarian crisis. In the end, they signed cooperation documents on climate change, environmental protection, water resource management, intellectual property rights, and food safety.
