Slovenia, 4th September 2021(TDI): Minister of Foreign Affairs of Germany, Heiko Mass addressed the press with the advancement made at the Gymnich 2021 meeting. The Minister informed that they have agreed that European Union needs to play a role in the ongoing crises in Afghanistan. Based on the proposal put forward by Germany and France, European Union would work with neighboring countries to work on the issues of migration, combating terrorism, and security.
The minister reinstated it is not in the interest of any state that the peace and stability of the whole region should be jeopardized by letting Afghanistan become a haven for terrorist groups. For that foreign minister said the international community has to step up to their responsibility.
