FM Finland meets MoFA Rwanda

Helsinki, 8 October 2021 (TDI): Pekka Haavisto, the Finnish Foreign Minister met with Vincent Biruta, the Rwandan Foreign Minister.
Pekka Haavisto welcomed Vincent Biruta, who was on his official visit to Finland. The two counterparts discussed the bilateral relations of their states. Their focus was on the economic and political relations of the two countries. They also exchanged their views on the new African strategy of the Finnish government.
Finland urges to strengthen the cooperation with Rwanda on multiple fields. Ensuring this, the Finnish Foreign Minister signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Trade with his Rwandan counterpart who was accompanied by a business delegation. The MoU will help to expand their relations.
The two countries enjoy close relations. Finland believes that Rwanda is their important partner in the African region. The cooperation between the two states on different fields is increasing. Rwanda also joined the Coalition of Finance Ministers for Climate Action at the invitation of Finland.
