Istanbul, 1 March 2023 (TDI): The first-ever Pakistani Pavilion was opened during the Eurasian Higher Education Summit (EURI) in Istanbul under the sponsorship of the Association of Private Sector Universities of Pakistan (APSUP).

34 representatives from 20 Pakistani universities will provide presentations on their various academic programs throughout the course of the three-day conference.

They will also look into prospects for collaboration, teacher and student exchange, and joint academic initiatives.

The Pakistani Pavilion was opened by Haldun Goktas, Deputy President of the Higher Education Council, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydin, President of Euras, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Iqbal Choudhary, Coordinator-General of COMSTECH, Prof. Dr. Ch. Abdul-Rehman, Chairman of the APSUP, and Nauman Aslam, Consul-General of Pakistan in Istanbul.

Addressing the occasion, they applauded APSUP’s efforts for taking concrete measures to enhance Pakistan’s positive image at this significant international gathering.

All 34 members of the Pakistani delegation received appreciation from Prof. Dr. Ch. Abdul-Rehman for their participation and collaboration.

At the Pakistani Pavilion, booths have been set up by the University of Lahore, Superior University, University of Faisalabad, University of Sialkot, University of Management and Technology, and Institute of Business Management.

The largest international higher education event in Eurasia, EURI is held annually and offers great networking and academic partnership possibilities for higher education institutions and other stakeholders from around the world.

It has given more than 2000 delegates from 2000 colleges the chance to share best practices and experiences this year. The Pakistani delegation also offered support for those affected by the earthquake while they were in Turkiye.

Leading Turkish universities were also visited by the team, and agreements for collaboration with top universities across the world were also signed.

The Pakistani delegation was comprised of Mian Imran Masood Vice-Chancellor of the University of South Asia, Dr. Abdul Basit President of Preston University, and Professor Dr. Waseem Qazi President of Iqra University.

Muhammad Anwar Dar Chairman of Gift University, Professor Dr. Sumaira Rehman Rector of Superior University, Professor Dr. Asif Raza Rector of the University of Management & Technology, and Khalid Amin Chancellor of Indus University were also part of the delegation.

Likewise, Dr. Aurangzeb Khan Vice Chancellor Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Dewan University, Asim Nazir Rector Institute of South Punjab, Haider Amin Chairman Board of Governors the University of Faisalabad, and Faisal Manzoor Chairman Board of Governors the University of Sialkot were included.

In addition, Muhammad Rehan Younas, President International Institute of Science, Art & Technology, Professor Dr. Shahid Qureshi Rector Gift University, Murtaza Noor Executive Director of APSUP, Ayesha Zahid Executive Director of Superior University, Nabhan Shah Karim Head of Marketing & Communication, Institute of Business Management and representatives of University of Lahore, Iqra University and the University of Sialkot accompanied them.
