Baku, 9 October 2021 (TDI): Pakistan and Azerbaijan have commenced the first logistics transport operation under the Transports Internationaux Routiers Convention (TIR). The National Logistic Cell (NLC) Pakistan conducts the operation. It has delivered two trucks of goods to Azerbaijan.
To commemorate this landmark achievement, a ceremony was held in Baku, Azerbaijan. Officials from both sides attended the event.
NLC under TIR Convention has also commenced delivering high-value goods to Turkey via Iran. This cooperation in transport area will help bolster economic and trade ties among the members of Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO), erstwhile Regional Cooperation for Development (RCD). Its members include Pakistan, Iran, Turkey, Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.
