Rome, 5 March 2022 (TDI): Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) Director-General Qu Dongyu had fruitful dialogues with all the FAO Regional Groups today. The dialogues were held in the capital of Italy.
The acceleration of the implementation of the entity’s Strategic Framework remained the topic and highlight of the dialogues. Furthermore, the discussion was also held on the current emergencies across the globe that are affecting food security. Food insecurities are increasing across the entire world.

The FAO Director-General took to his official Twitter account stating that each region has its own needs. The priorities of every region are different too. After stating that, he underscored that FAO is ready to provide assistance to all partners. The ultimate goal is to achieve food security for all. This will be done in a manner that no one lags and is left behind.
What is FAO?
FAO is basically a special entity under the United Nations also called the UN. Combating food insecurity, ending hunger are among the goals of the FAO. In other words, it can be rightly said that it leads the efforts to achieve zero hunger across the globe.
The goal is not just to ensure the quantity of food but also to ensure good quality as well. This way the masses will be able to live healthier and more active lives.
FAO Member States
Around 194 nations are the member states of FAO. In addition to that, the entity operates in over 130 countries. By operating in various countries, FAO assists the respective governments in policy-making for achieving goals regarding achieving zero hunger.
Furthermore, projects and programs are also developed to help achieve the earlier mentioned goals and objectives. It is pertinent to mention over here that the development of fisheries, aquaculture, agriculture, forestry, etc, and related sectors are considered along the way.
