Minister Sadiq emphasized the country’s present flood catastrophe and informed the Ambassador of the donor coordination for emergency flood help during this dire scenario.
The Ambassador acknowledged the effort and provided additional assurances of coordination on the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals between both sides (SDGs).
Together with the EU Member States, the MIP will support Pakistan’s Vision 2025 through a Team Europe strategy. The Team Europe strategy will support the Global Gateway of the EU at the national level.
The goals of the current MIP are to further improve integrated collaboration, as specified under the Strategic Engagement Plan (2019), and are driven by the country’s strategic development priorities.
In conjunction with national authorities and civil society, a comprehensive mid-term review of this MIP’s implementation will be conducted to determine the indicative allocations for 2025–2027 and the potential change of other key components.
Ambassador’s Remarks
Dr Riina Kionka said, “The EU multiannual indicative programme for Pakistan sets out the EU’s development strategic objectives in support of a stable, democratic and pluralistic Pakistan, in line with the EU-Pakistan Strategic Engagement Plan (2019), which frames the relationship between the European Union and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.”
