During the meeting, the ministers will discuss a number of priority agendas. This includes the full application of Schengen laws in Bulgaria, Croatia, and Romania.

The EU ministers will also discuss the concerns over migration and asylum, Russia’s aggression against Ukraine, and child abuse.

Meeting Agenda Highlights

The important agenda point for the meeting is the Schengen area. It is the largest border-free area in the world. This area allows people to travel freely between member countries without going through border controls.

The EU ministers will be discussing the full application of the Schengen acquis in Bulgaria, Croatia, and Romania. They will adopt a decision on this matter during the first session of the meeting.

Along with this, migration and asylum is the other important area of discussion. Ministers will exchange views on main migratory routes. They will also discuss ongoing work on the EU’s asylum and migration policy.

Ministers will exchange views on the Russian aggression in Ukraine. The war has spurred global issues including the threat to food and energy security. The European region has been negatively affected by this. The situation of Ukraine refugees in the EU will be discussed as well.

In addition to this, ministers will assess the progress on draft regulations to prevent child abuse online. This was proposed earlier in May 2022 by European Commission.
