Quetta, 29 October 2021(TDI): Hunar Rozgar Mela 2021 took place in Quetta to enable trained youth to connect with Human Resource recruiters from leading companies of the city. The job fair and recruitment drive aims at enabling youth to contribute to the mainstream economic development of the country. It was organized with the support of the Technical and Vocational Education and Training Sector Support Programme (TVET SSP). The European Union, Germany, and the Royal Norwegian Embassy funded the job fair.
TVET SSP exhibited the top training institutions in Balochistan in the Mela. They provide competency-based training. It also encouraged the contribution of Business and Industry Associations (BIAs) to allocate on-the-job training. Moreover, it also emphasized active employment for youth in key sectors. Governor of Balochistan Syed Zahoor Ahmad Agha praised the job fair for its incredible contribution to the region’s development. He said that “The Hunar Rozgar Mela 2021 has been offering a great opportunity to the young lot.”
Ambassador of the European Union to Pakistan, Androulla Kaminara, also addressed the event. “Our ultimate goal in supporting the TVET sector is to make sure that young men and women in Pakistan could find decent employment and contribute to the much-needed inclusive economic growth of the country”, the ambassador said.

Such job fairs play a crucial role in youth empowerment and active employment. Job fairs also aim to contribute to regional development and to country prosperity. TVET SSP-like initiatives drive the socio-economic uplift of the community thereby directly promoting national development.
