Islamabad (TDI): Envoys of Romania, Somalia, Nepal, Japan and Bangladesh presented credentials to President Asif Ali Zardari in Islamabad on Tuesday.
The President received credentials from Ambassador-designate of Romania Dan Stoenescu, Ambassador-designate of Somalia Sheikh Nur Mohamed Hassan, Ambassador-designate of Nepal Ms Rita Dhital, Ambassador-designate of Japan Akamatsu Shuichi and High Commissioner-designate of Bangladesh Md. Iqbal Hussain Khan.
Welcoming the envoys, the President congratulated them on their appointments and expressed hope that they would play their role in further strengthening bilateral relations with Pakistan in the areas of trade, economy, and culture.

Envoys Accorded Gaurd of Honour
Earlier, the envoys were accorded a guard of honor by a contingent of the Pakistan Armed Forces upon their arrival at the President House, Islamabad.
The government of Bangladesh has appointed new ambassador with focus on improving ties with Pakistan.

Today in cabinet meeting, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that Pakistan-Bangladesh ties were entering a new era as the latter had abolished erstwhile 100% scanning of Pakistan’s export products and special desk at airports for screening Pakistani passport holders.
He said Pakistan was also reciprocating with positive indicators and Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar was scheduled to visit Dhaka in February.
