Xinjiang, 9 August 2022 (TDI): Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China organized a delegation of Islamic countries’ diplomatic envoys to China to visit Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region. Diplomats from 30 Islamic countries joined the event.

The diplomats witnessed ethnic groups living peacefully with complete religious freedom. Advances are being made in reducing poverty, and rural areas are being revived, which is the true reality in Xinjiang.

Secretary of the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Regional Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Ma Xingrui with the diplomats. Chairman of Uyghur Autonomous Region Erkin Tuniyaz also joined them.

Secretary Ma Xingrui said, since the CPC’s 18th National Congress, Xinjiang has effectively implemented the CPC’s goals and policies for the administration of Xinjiang in the new era.

For the people, it has given social stability, peace, and prosperity. Any misinformation campaign cannot disrupt the achievements of Xinjiang in terms of prosperity, development, and protection of human rights.

The region’s pace for prosperity and development will undoubtedly speed up. Through the visit, the envoys will also gain a deeper and more thorough understanding of the region.

China and Islamic nations have a long history of friendship and close collaboration. As the heart of the Silk Road Economic Belt, Xinjiang is eager to encourage regional interactions and collaboration with Islamic nations for the benefit of the people.

Remarks from Envoys 

The diplomats praised the “People First” approach of the Chinese government in the Xinjiang region of China. The diplomats said the freedom of religion and numerous rights of Muslims are properly maintained.

They also noted that the region has made significant efforts and achieved positive outcomes in economic growth, ethnic unity, ecological preservation, and other spheres.

The delegation envoys said that the observations are completely different from what some Western media reported. Islamic nations are ready to fully use Xinjiang’s comparative advantages, deepen their practical collaboration, and produce outcomes with mutual benefits.

The delegation met face to face with the religious families and also witnessed the harmonious coexistence of all ethnic groups of the region.

They visited several areas in Xinjiang and enterprises to look for opportunities for economic development and practical cooperation.

The delegation also spoke highly of the Xinjiang legal and policy framework, practice, and effectiveness of counterterrorism and de-extremism.
