Embassy of Pakistan hosts Alumni event for Nepali Army Officers

Nepal, 4 July 2023 (TDI): The Embassy of Pakistan organized an alumni dinner for Nepali army officers who have received training at military institutions in Pakistan.

General Prabhu Ram Sharma, Chief of Amry Staff (CoAS) Armed Forces of Nepal was the chief guest at the occasion. A good number of serving and retired army officers attended the event that was held on Sunday.

This landmark event aimed to strengthen the long-lasting ties between Nepal and Pakistan. It also sheds light on fostered military cooperation and bilateral engagements.

The purpose of the event was to express gratitude for the invaluable skills and training given to Nepali officers by Pakistani educational institutes.

Prabhu Ram Sharma is the current chief of army staff, and his presence enlightened the event. He acknowledged the contributions made by Pakistan in the training of Nepali Army officers, soldiers, and capacity building in technical fields across all spectrums.

His presence further emphasized the commitment of the Armed Forces of Nepal to promoting professional development and strengthening defense capabilities through international collaboration.

As the evening unfolded, conversations revolved around the mutual benefits derived from such educational exchanges, enhancing professional capabilities and fostering a deeper understanding of each other’s military practices.

Ambassador Ibrar Hashmi also delivered a vote of thanks and highlighted that Pakistan and Nepal have strong relations based on mutual trust and beneficial collaboration between the People, Government, and Armed Forces. He paid gratitude to COAS Sharma and other senior officers for attending the inaugural alumni event.
