Islamabad (TDI): Prof. Dr. Rauf-i-Azam, Vice Chancellor Government College University of Faisalabad, has been honoured with the prestigious Global Ambassador Award 2024 in recognition of his exceptional services in the field of education.
The 6th Global Ambassador Awards Ceremony was organized in Islamabad by The Diplomatic Insight Group, a global public diplomacy institution in Pakistan, with the presence of Ambassadors, diplomatic corps, Parliamentarians, government officials, business leaders, academics, media, and civil society members.
Rana Ihsaan Afzal Khan, Coordinator to the Prime Minister of Pakistan, graced the occasion as the chief guest.
Dr. Farhat Asif, Chairperson of the Diplomatic Insight Group, welcomed distinguished guests and underscored the organization’s commitment to promoting global collaboration and diplomacy.

Prof. Dr. Rauf-i-Azam is Mphil in Mathematics from Quaid-i-Azam University Islamabad followed by a PhD, in Information Systems, from Nara Institute of Science and Technology, Nara, Japan.
His PhD was financed through a prestigious meritorious scholarship sponsored by the Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of Pakistan.
Since the completion of his PhD in 1998 he has been deeply involved with the realm of knowledge economy.
He is a distinguished professional with invaluable contribution towards teaching, research, national & international academic linkages, administration and institution development.
Currently, he is serving as the Vice Chancellor Government College University of Faisalabad and earlier he has served as founding Vice Chancellor of the Punjab University of Technology Rasul, Mandi Bahauddin (2021-24).
In this role he is developing a world-class university from scratch leading all the activities ranging from planning to execution of a development project worth more than Rs.6,208 million.
He has also served as Pro-Rector at the University of Lahore, one of the largest universities in the private sector.

Earlier he has served as the Vice Chancellor of the University of Education Lahore (2015-19) where he was instrumental in designing and implementing a comprehensive reform agenda improving the quality of education through sustained improvements in the quality of faculty, curricula, operational efficiency, institutional environment, use of technology and many other dimensions.
Besides having worked tirelessly for expanding the impact of his own institutions, Prof. Dr. Rauf-i-Azam has contributed extensively for the uplift of the overall Higher Education Sector promoting peace, responsible citizenship, respect for diversity and life-long learning.
