Kabul, 25 August 2021 (TDI): Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, the Chairman of the High Council for National Reconciliation Afghanistan, along with Hamid Karzai had conducted an extensive meeting with Dr. Mutlaq Al Qahtani, the Special Envoy of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar.
Following the Taliban takeover, the international community is concerned. Both parties discussed the current state of affairs in Afghanistan. It was viewed as crucial to the maintenance of peace in Afghanistan and the region. During the meeting, it was negotiated and agreed that political and democratic solutions would be the only way to ensure Afghanistan’s stability.
They also stressed the importance of strengthening bilateral and diplomatic ties between the two countries. In Afghanistan, the establishment of an inclusive administration is vital and necessary. Afghanistan must maintain friendly relations with the international community and form an inclusive government. At the end of the meeting, Dr. Abdullah Abdullah thanked and appreciated Qatar for its continuous support to Afghanistan.
