Jeddah (TDI): Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar arrived in Saudi Arabia today to participate in an extraordinary session of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Council of Foreign Ministers in Jeddah.
Dar travelled directly from Dhaka, where he conducted a two-day official visit, to join the high-level gathering.
According to the Foreign Office, the extraordinary session will bring together foreign ministers and senior representatives from OIC member states to formulate a collective response to the worsening situation in Palestine.
The discussions will focus on Israel’s ongoing military campaign, its reported plans to impose full control over Gaza, and continued violations of Palestinian rights.
Reaffirming Pakistan’s longstanding position, the Foreign Office spokesperson said Islamabad has consistently raised the plight of the Palestinians on international platforms.

At the session, Dar will underscore Pakistan’s unwavering support for Palestine and its call for Israel’s complete withdrawal from all occupied territories.
He will reject any plan for extending Israeli military control over Gaza and further displacing Palestinians.
Dar will also highlight the urgent need for unhindered humanitarian assistance and reiterate Pakistan’s support for the creation of an independent, sovereign Palestinian state on pre-1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.
On the sidelines of the OIC meeting, the deputy prime minister is expected to hold bilateral talks with counterparts from key member states during his two-day visit.
The extraordinary OIC session in Jeddah is part of a broader diplomatic push by Muslim countries to mobilize international opinion against Israel’s military actions in Gaza and to press for an immediate ceasefire. Member states are expected to issue a joint communiqué reflecting a unified stance on the crisis.

Observers note that the meeting comes at a critical juncture, with growing calls from humanitarian organizations and global leaders for unrestricted aid access to Gaza, where the civilian population faces acute shortages of food, medicine, and shelter.
The OIC, representing 57 member states, has historically played a central role in articulating collective concerns of the Muslim world on Palestine.
Dar’s participation in the session underscores Pakistan’s active diplomatic engagement on Palestine and its efforts to build consensus within the OIC. Officials in Islamabad have emphasized that Pakistan will continue to raise its voice for the Palestinian cause at all international forums until a just and lasting solution is achieved.
