Cuba and Pakistan Relationship
Cuba and Pakistan established diplomatic relations on October 28, 1955. Both states opened their embassies in 1963; Pakistan has its embassy in La Havanna and Cuba has its in Islamabad.
In 1968 and 1990 their embassy closed due to economic problems. Nevertheless, the relationship between the two became solid when Cuba assisted Pakistan after the 2005 Kashmir earthquake.
In fact, after this natural disaster, in 2006 both nations invented the Pak Cuba friendship Association. Both nations interact in different fields such as education, agriculture, industry, science, technology, and military areas.
In 2008, the two states created a Joint Economic Commission intending to expand their cooperation in the economic field. Concerning multilateral cooperation, the two are members of some international organizations.
For instance, Cuba and Pakistan cooperate through the United Nations (UN), the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the World Bank, and the Food and Agriculture Organization, and more.
