The conference on 'Investment Opportunities in Pakistan'

Washington D.C., 18 December 2021 (TDI): On Thursday, the Pakistani Embassy in the United States of America (USA) in collaboration with the Board of Investment (BOI) Pakistan organized a conference in Islamabad.

The Conference was attended by the Pakistani Ambassador in the USA, Asad Majeed Khan, the Pakistani Consul General in Chicago, Tariq Karm, members of the Pakistan Board of Investment, and representatives of ninety US companies.

The Pakistani Ambassador and the Consul General joined the meeting with some other members of the Embassy, virtually. The US embassy co-hosted the meeting.

The goal of the meeting was to introduce US-based companies to new and innovative business opportunities available in Pakistan. In the webinar, the US companies were given presentations on the priority sectors that hold good business opportunities for foreign investors.

These presentations were given by the representatives of the Federal and Provincial departments of Pakistan. According to the presentation, there are priority sectors in Pakistan that can boost up Pakistan economy and provide favorable outcomes to foreign investors.

These sectors include tourism, the Information Technology (IT) industry of Pakistan, the e-commerce industry, the Automotive Industry, the Food and Agriculture industry, and the construction industry.

For Pakistan to boost up its economy and grow its market, the arrangement of such conferences and webinars is really important. Sharing such information is vital as it informs and attracts foreign investors to Pakistan.

The Pakistani Embassy in the US collaborated with the Pakistani Board of Investment to spread the word about the availability of good investment opportunities in Pakistan.

The United States Agency for International Development already collaborated with the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) and they presented a report on the electronic automotive industry of Pakistan.

This report helped in sparking the interest of US companies within the electronic automotive industry of Pakistan. Therefore, this conference would have also made a great impact in bringing future investments to Pakistan.
