Victoria, 30 September 2021 (TDI): The Cuban Ambassador Martha Hernandez Caneiro presented to the President of Seychelles Wavel Ramkawalan the credentials that accredited her as Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Cuban Republic to the African country.
After the ceremony in the State House, both parties discussed the healthy state of the bilateral relations and the will to strengthen the historic bonds between the two countries. Ramkawalan and Caneiro discussed the health cooperation in Seychelles and the perspectives to explore in the environment and agriculture.
The Foreign Affairs Minister of Seychelles, Sylvestre Radegonde, was also present at the ceremony along with other members of the Foreign Office. Caneiro also met with Vice-President Ahmed Afif and both discussed topics of shared interest to the parties. The President stated that more than 200 Seychelles citizens have studied in Cuba.
Cuba and Seychelles have been enjoying cordial diplomatic relations since 1978, based on brotherhood, respect, and cooperation.
