Islamabad, 30 September 2021 (TDI): As Pakistan has crossed the milestone of administrating 80 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines; WHO Pakistan congratulates the Government of Pakistan and National Command and Operation Centre on this incredible achievement. Pakistan has done an incredible job to ensure COVID-free Pakistan. WHO Pakistan appreciates the government’s efforts.
Dr. Palitha Mahipala – WHO Pakistan’s Representative has been distributing masks in different places to raise awareness and also encourage people to take safety measures. He with Information Minister Kamran Bangash KP inaugurated a new drive-through vaccination center at Khyber Medical University.
Moreover, Dr. Mahipala distributed solar ILR machines to the KMU staff to maintain quality and ensure the safety of the vaccines i.e. keeping vaccines within recommended temperature ranges. He further added, “there is a need to initiate multicomponent interventions to boost vaccine uptake and safeguard vaccine equity”.
