Addis Ababa, 10 September 2021 (TDI): On Thursday, the Cuban Ambassador to Ethiopia Vilma Ramírez held a meeting with Ambassador Gebeyehu Ganga, who works as the Director-General for the Americas of the Ethiopian Foreign Ministry at Addis Ababa.
The officials showed satisfaction over the historical liaison between the two states while analyzing the complications of their bilateral objectives. The meeting was held at the headquarters of Ethiopia’s Foreign Ministry, where the Cuban Ambassador also congratulated the Ethiopian government as the country approaches to celebrate New Year on September 11. Similarly, several issues of bilateral interest were convened during the sitting.
The diplomatic relations between Cuba and Ethiopia were formally established in 1975, soon after the monarchial system was abolished in Ethiopia and communist beliefs were endorsed. To strengthen its bilateral relations with Ethiopia, Cuba has been engaging with the country on various fronts, particularly in the fields of education, health, and technology, by providing the Ethiopian youth with exchange programs in the respective fields.
