Lower Dir, 11 October 2021 (TDI): Mahmood Khan, the Chief Minister for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, stated that the region has experienced an increase in economic activity since its connection with CPEC.
He also said that CPEC has enabled the region to prosper and to move forward. He notified that many mega-uplift programs are currently being created and CPEC will offer more economic opportunities for the future.
The CM explained that seven economic zones had been created by CPEC in the last three years. These economic zones are for the people’s benefit and the government was working hard for the development of all Khyber Pakhtunkhwa zones.
He also announced the Greater Water Supply program to Timergara, construction on the 45-kilometer Thall-Patrak-Kumrat Road, as well as links roads for Binshahi, Jazabanda, and Laram.
He also said that the Chakdarra Dir motorway was being ratified and that it would complete the project at an estimated cost of PKR 37 billion.
Each scheme would start at Rs. 1,000,000 in the current financial year and showed that Dir Medical College was on headway and that Gopal irrigation scheme has been approved for $5 billion.
He mentioned the government’s efforts in helping the masses and announced that food cards would soon be available for deserving people.
