Counterparts from Jordan and Sweden discuss UNRWA

New York, 23 September 2021 (TDI): Ayman Safadi, the Jordanian Minister of Foreign Affairs & Expatriates held a meeting with Ann Linde, the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Sweden. The meeting was held on the sidelines of the ongoing session of the 76th General Assembly of the United Nations, in New York.

The discussion revolved around the plans for the international conference to support UNWRA. The conference will be co-hosted by Jordan and Sweden. It will be held in November, this year. The Jordanian minister highlighted the need for funding for the Agency. The support it provides to the Palestinian refugees is unequivocally vital. The counterparts also discussed ways to strengthen the partnership between the two countries. Moreover, measures required to mitigate the regional crises were also deliberated upon in the meeting.

Ayman Safadi thanked his Swedish counterpart for her country’s persistent and invaluable support.
