COPHC and Zong set up a computer lab for Faqeer Middle School in Gwadar

Gwadar, 16 December 2021 (TDI): A digital laboratory has been set up in Gwadar by joint collaboration between the China Overseas Ports Holding Company (COPHC) and Zong Telecommunications. This will be the first such lab in the area with 30 new computers.

It has been set up in the Pak-China Faqeer Colony Middle School of Gwadar. The aim of establishing the lab is to ensure that the children of Gwadar have better future prospects.

This news was shared by Zhang Baozhong on his official Twitter handle. Zhang Baozhong is the Chairman and CEO of the COPHC.

China Overseas Ports Holding Company

COPHC Pakistan is a branch of COPHC. It is a fast-growing and emerging company in Hong Kong. COPHC has registered its Regional Office in Pakistan. As per the concession agreement, the company has taken over the management of recently developed Gwadar Port as well as the Gwadar Free Zone since May 2013 for 40 years.

The objective of the COPHC is to create the most strategic and well-located maritime hub in the region. COPHC endeavors to transform the Gwadar port into an epicenter of maritime trade in the whole region with the aim of providing access to the landlocked Central Asian Region (CAR), generally and Pakistan, particularly.

The COPHC has diversified interests in the field of Maritime & Logistics. It has three subsidiaries in Pakistan, GITL – Gwadar International Terminals Ltd, GMSL – Gwadar Marine Services Ltd., and GFZL – Gwadar Free Zone Company Ltd.

Faqeer Middle School

Faqeer Middle School is located in Faqeer Colony and is a Chinese-funded venture. The venture aims to provide quality education to the children of the area. It is also known as Faqeer Middle School and covers an area of 1,600 square meters.

China-Pakistan Gwadar Faqeer Middle School has two teaching buildings with supporting facilities. The school is a true reflection of China-Pakistan’s friendship.
