Sochi (TDI): The OIC Ministerial Standing Committee on Scientific and Technological Cooperation (COMSTECH), in collaboration with the Russian Association for Earthquake Engineering and Protection from Natural and Manmade Hazards (RAEE), jointly organized the 16th National Conference on “Earthquake Engineering and Seismic Zoning: Safety and Reliability in Every Building” from October 5 to 11 in Sochi, Russia.
The conference brought together leading Russian and international experts in the field of earthquake engineering to exchange knowledge, share recent scientific advancements, and discuss practical experiences related to seismic safety and structural reliability.

In line with the OIC-COMSTECH’s mandate to promote scientific collaboration among the OIC member states, four experts from Pakistan, representing (NUST University, Islamabad, UET Peshawar, NED University Karachi, and the National Centre of Earth Sciences Islamabad, participated in the event as COMSTECH nominees.

The conference provided a valuable platform for researchers, practitioners, theorists, and industry professionals to foster new partnerships, explore innovative approaches, and collectively contribute to enhancing earthquake resilience in civil engineering, architecture, and construction worldwide.
