Islamabad, 24 February 2023 (TDI): This year, the Standing Committee for Scientific and Technological Cooperation (COMSTECH) is looking for nominations for nine different categories.

By March 31, 2023, scientists and researchers who currently reside in OIC member states and are employed there may nominate themselves for these prizes.

For its Lifetime Achievement Awards in the basic sciences of physics and mathematics, as well as for its Excellence in Science & Technology Awards, COMSTECH is currently accepting applications.

Categories included are the Young Researcher Award, Best Scientific Book Award, Best Patent Award, and Best Research Paper Award in the fields of biology, chemistry, mathematics, and physics.

It is pertinent to note that through its prestigious awards, COMSTECH honors the outstanding research accomplishments of scientists who work and reside in OIC member states.

Every award comes with a certificate, a shield of honor, and money. The winner of the award for basic sciences is given by the President of Pakistan.

COMSTECH

The Standing Committee for Scientific and Technological Cooperation (COMSTECH) is one of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation’s (OIC) four permanent committees.

It is responsible for fostering cooperation in science and technology initiatives among OIC member states. It was established at the OIC’s Islamic Summit in 1981 in Mecca.

The goal was to enhance domestic scientific and technological capabilities, foster cooperation in pertinent fields, and establish institutional frameworks for planning and development at the Ummah level.
