Commissioning Ceremony of PNS HAIBAT in Karachi

Karachi, 31 March 2022 (TDI): The Commissioning Ceremony of PNS HAIBAT was held in Karachi along with the induction ceremony of PNT GOGA. Admiral Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi, Chief of the Naval Staff graced the occasion as Chief Guest.

PNS HAIBAT is Pakistan Navy’s indigenously designed & constructed Fast Attack Craft Missile FAC (M) vessel. While PNT GOGA is the third 16 Ton Bollard Pull Tug.

PNS HAIBAT is the first major project designed indigenously by the Maritime Technologies Complex (MTC). It has been constructed by KS&EW sans foreign technical assistance.

Speaking on the occasion, Admiral Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi emphasized that the commissioning of PNS HAIBAT is a watershed point in the indigenous construction and design that has evolved with time.

The Chief of Naval Staff remarked that in the context of the across-the-board regional security paradigm, PNS HAIBAT will reinforce Pakistan Navy’s capacity to tackle maritime challenges along with ensuring seaward defense.

Likewise, it will preserve peace & stability in Indian Ocean Region (IOR). Admiral Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi lauded the joint efforts of KS&EW, MTC, and Pakistan Navy for the landmark accomplishment.

Rear Admiral Athar Saleem, the Managing Director of KS&EW also accentuated at the occasion, that the Missile Craft PNS HAIBAT as a multi-mission capable vessel will strengthen Pakistan Navy’s maritime defense abilities.

He further added that the induction of PNT GOGA is also a significant landmark that will support the indigenous ship construction capabilities.

The official ceremony was attended by many foreign dignitaries, officials from federal as well as provincial governments, Pakistan Navy, and KS&EW.
