Canberra, 29 November 2022 (TDI): High Commission for Pakistan in Australia in collaboration with Pakistan Post issued a Commemorative Postage Stamp to celebrate 75 years of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Australia and Pakistan.

The launch ceremony of the Commemorative Postage Stamp was held at the High Commission for Pakistan in Canberra, Australia, on 29 November 2022.

The High Commissioner for Pakistan to Australia, Zahid Hafeez Chaudhari presided over the ceremony. Pakistan Post issued the Postage Stamp of Rs 20/- denomination on 15th November 2022 to mark the 75th anniversary of Pakistan-Australia relations.

The stamp depicts the Parliament of Pakistan and of Australia which symbolizes the highly dignified and esteemed democracies of both countries. High Commission released a picture of the Postage Stamp and a statement on occasion.

Pakistan-Australia Diplomatic Relations

Today, Pakistan and Australia are celebrating to mark successful 75 years of diplomatic ties between Australia and Pakistan. Both countries established diplomatic relations in 1947 soon after Pakistan got independence.

In 1948, Australia deployed its resident Diplomatic Mission in Pakistan. Pakistan and Australia enjoyed their relations for 75 years as cooperation and partnership in all areas grew.

The bilateral cooperation between both countries extended to the fields of politics, economies, trade, investment, defense and security, technology, Social and economic development, tourism, and education.

Over 100,000 Pakistani Diaspora is in Australia and the same passion for cricket act as a bridge between strong Pakistan-Australia Diplomatic relations. Pakistan holds its High Commission in Canberra, and Australia holds its High Commission in Islamabad.

Furthermore, both countries work closely at international fora and support each other on regional and international matters.

Director General Pakistan Post issued a statement that states, “Pakistan enjoys its relations with Australia and looks forward to deepening cooperation in all areas of mutual concerns including Climate Change, Agriculture, Education, Water Management, Information technology, Petroleum, and Infrastructure”.
