Rawalpindi, 9 September 2021 (TDI): The Director of Central Intelligence Service (CIA) the USA, William Joseph Burns met Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Qamar Javed Bajwa, and Director General Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), Lt. General Faiz Hameed. According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the military’s media wing, the officials discussed the evolving regional security dynamics and the emerging situation in Afghanistan.
The DG ISPR, Bajwa said in a statement that, during the meeting, Pakistan reiterated its full commitment with international partners for regional peace and stability and also underscored its continuing efforts for ensuring stable and prosperous Afghanistan. The CIA chief applauded Pakistan’s efforts in conducting successful evacuation operations in Afghanistan and its commitment to peace in the region. The visiting dignitary pledged to improve diplomatic cooperation with Pakistan at all levels.
