Islamabad, 30 January 2022 (TDI): Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan will be visiting Beijing in the next few days to attend the forthcoming Winter Olympics which China is hosting. In an article authored by Imran Khan himself he stated that being a sportsman himself, he can relate to the spirit that comes with sporting events in nations.

The article to which reference has been given earlier got published in the opinion-editorial section of The Global Times on 28 January 2022.

In the article, Imran Khan made several other points. Primarily he spoke highly of the Pak-China friendship. Stating it has remained matchless. It has a laudable history.

In addition to that, the two nations remained mutually respectful of each other. The support and commitment to their bilateral relations are also mutual.

Furthermore, he underscored in his writing that this friendship has undoubtedly turned into a strategic cooperation. The fact that special words like “Ba Tie” are reserved for Pakistanis in China is proof of the iron-clad brotherhood.

Imran Khan referred to the last year’s 70th anniversary of diplomatic ties celebrations as well. Stating that they have further deepened the bond.

It is pertinent to mention here that relations with China hold great significance in Pakistan’s foreign policy too.

Chinese Ambassador acknowledges Imran Khan’s warm words

Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Nong Rong expressed his appreciation for Imran Khan’s friendly remarks. On his Twitter account, Nong Rong paid his gratitude to the Prime Minister.

Additionally, he welcomed Imran Khan to the Winter Olympics. Furthermore, he hopes that the visit becomes yet another success.

Permanent Representative of Pakistan to UN wishes China good luck

Ambassador Munir Akram, Permanent Representative of Pakistan to the UN in New York sent his best wishes to brotherly nation China.

Moreover, he wished success and happiness to China and its people in hosting the Olympics. Not to mention, he wished them a happy year of the Tiger – The Chinese New Year.
