Dhaka, 12 September 2021 (TDI): Bangladesh received a new batch of Sinopharm vaccines on Saturday from China as the country continues to battle Covid-19. China has been actively supporting Bangladesh along with other Asian Pacific nations.
Vaccine drive in Bangladesh is now adroitly focused in Dhaka and other major cities with an initiative taken by the country’s health ministry to produce the vaccines locally in order to accelerate the process of vaccinating every citizen.
Earlier in August a Memorandum of understanding was also signed between the Chinese Sinopharm Group and Bangladesh’s health ministry to contain the surge in the pandemic.
So far the country has received vaccine jabs from various countries including India, the US, and China. With the disconnection of donations of Chinese vaccines due to shortage, AstraZeneca was used to vaccinate a large proportion of citizens and the drive has now resumed with the arrival of the Sinopharm vaccines.
