Beijing, 27 June 2023 (TDI): Today, China’s President Xi Jinping met with Barbadian PM Mia Amor Mottley in Beijing.
President Xi praised the strong relationship between China and Barbados, calling Barbados a trusted friend and partner in the Caribbean. This recognition highlights the growing trust and cooperation between the two nations.
In recent years, there have been collaborations between China and Barbados in areas such as healthcare and disaster management. China provided medical teams and supplies to assist Barbados in times of emergencies, including the COVID-19 pandemic.

In 2021, Chinese President Xi Jinping showed China’s will and commitment to strengthen medical cooperation with Barbados and help the country fight against the COVID-19 pandemic at an early date.
China also donated 30,000 doses of the SinoPharm vaccine to Barbados in those critical days of COVID-19.
China and Barbados’ multifaceted relationship encompasses economic cooperation, trade, cultural exchanges, and collaboration in various sectors. The partnership between the two countries continues to evolve, with both sides expressing a commitment to further deepening their ties for mutual benefit.
