Beijing, 6 November 2021 (TDI): Chinese President Xi Jinping emphasized strengthening democracy in China.
Xi Jinping participated in the Xicheng district people’s congress elections by casting his vote on Friday, 5 November 2021. He restated the importance of strengthening democracy in China to make sure people run the country.
Xi Jinping is the current General-Secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee. The Chinese President is also Chairman of the Central Military Commission. He cast his vote in Beijing to elect deputies of the Congress.
Chinese President stressed the importance of elections in the polling station. He said that the elections are very important to the foundation of the country. He also emphasized the importance of Congress deputies’ elections. In the elections, people are elected to run the country, he added. Therefore, it is a very sensitive issue. The future of the country depends on its elections.
He also highlighted the importance of democracy. Chinese President emphasized that democracy gives the role of the decision-making to people. In a democracy, people govern people, he added.
Chinese President urged for a stronger oversight over the process of elections. He said that the wrongdoings in the electoral process can cost the whole country. He also said that there will be an investigation if any wrongdoing happens in the electoral process.
