Beijing (TDI): Chinese Premier Li Qiang held talks with Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto in Beijing on Saturday, where both leaders underscored their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations and deepening cooperation.
Premier Li highlighted the steady improvement in China-Indonesia relations, which he said have reached a new level marked by a shared vision for building a future-oriented community.
He emphasized China’s readiness to work closely with Indonesia to implement agreements reached by both heads of state, fostering mutual trust and expanding collaboration in support of both countries’ modernization goals and regional stability.
Li encouraged enhanced cooperation on key development areas, including green minerals, digital economy, marine research, and environmental protection, which he said would further drive economic progress.
He also noted China’s commitment to strengthening dialogue with Indonesia on global platforms like the UN, with a focus on protecting the rights and interests of developing nations.

President Prabowo reaffirmed Indonesia’s support for the one-China policy and acknowledged China’s sovereignty over its internal matters, including Xinjiang.
He expressed Indonesia’s eagerness to mark the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations with China next year by advancing mutual cooperation on projects such as the Jakarta-Bandung High-Speed Railway and enhancing cultural and educational exchanges.

Prabowo commended China’s role in promoting international justice and supporting the Global South, noting Indonesia’s interest in strengthening joint efforts on global and regional issues.
