New York, 11 September 2021 (TDI): Chinese mission to United Nations called the international community to help Libya achieve peace amid political turmoil. Dai Bing, the Chinese permanent mission to the UN urges for peaceful elections as scheduled in December this year.
Libyan parliament remains divided over the ratification of the electoral law and therefore has not designed any legal framework for conducting fair elections although the process of reconciliation between all the parties has started.
Chinese envoy Dai has held forth China’s expectations with Libyans to get the way out through the issue and ensure fair elections to promote inclusivity and harmony among all parties representing comprehensive transition government. Dai also called out for a safe and secure plan to draw out the foreign troops suggesting a wiser political solution.
