Guangzhou, 25 July 2024 (TDI): Wang Yi, the Chinese Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Dmytro Kuleba, the Ukrainian Minister of Foreign Affairs, met in Guangzhou, China, to address various matters simultaneously. Wang Yi placed a strong emphasis on the significance of strengthening China-Ukraine Practical Cooperation across a wide range of industries.
Wang, who is also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, declared that the third plenary session of the 20th CPC Central Committee has launched a new phase of comprehensive reform.
Wang further stated that this new period of reform has been initiated. Wang thinks that the considerable efforts that China is doing to promote Chinese modernization will result in the creation of new opportunities for people from all various countries.
The fact that Ukraine was an early participant and backer of the Belt and Road Initiative was acknowledged by Wang. He stressed that China has been Ukraine’s key commercial partner and the top destination for agricultural exports from Ukraine in recent times.
He also stated that China has been the top destination for Ukrainian exports. During the first half of the year 2024, there was a considerable increase in the quantity of trade that took place between the two countries, which is an indication of the promising chances and potential for collaboration that exist between the two parties.
The speaker underlined the importance of exploiting platforms for bilateral cooperation and strengthening practical collaboration across a variety of disciplines.
In addition, he noted that China will continue to increase the amount of grain that it imports from Ukraine and will collaborate with Ukraine to create efficient logistics channels and ensure the safety of food anywhere in the world.

During the early stages of the conflict in Ukraine, Wang would like to express his gratitude to Ukraine for its assistance in evacuating Chinese citizens, particularly overseas students.
Furthermore, he underlined the expectation that Ukraine will continue to implement appropriate measures to guarantee the protection of Chinese workers and institutions that are located within the country.
