Beijing, 19 October 2021 (TDI): Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi congratulated his newly appointed Zambian counterpart Stanely Kakubo.
Wang Yi congratulated his Zambian counterpart through phone call. The two counterparts also discussed the bilateral ties. Wang Yi expressed in the conversation that the two countries have great potential for cooperation that have a bright future.

The two countries enjoy close relations. The friendship between the two countries was formed by their founding fathers i.e. Mao Zedong of China and Kenneth Kaunda of Zambia. The Chinese Foreign Minister term the relationship of two states precious and stated it should be carried forward.
He also noted that Zambia and China has been all-weather friends. He further added that China is planning to provide 1 million more doses of vaccine to Zambia. It will help Zambia in its fight against novel coronavirus.
While the Zambian Foreign Minister expressed his new government’s will to strengthen the cooperation with China. He also thanked China for donating vaccines and other supplies to fight the pandemic. He also added that the Belt and Road Initiative of China has helped a lot Zambia. Therefore, Zambia will help to enhance cooperation between African nations and China.
