Rawalpindi, 6 November 2021 (TDI): Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan, Nong Rong and Chinese Defence Attachee Major General Yang Yang visited GHQ in Rawalpindi. The Chinese delegate met the Chief of Army Staff General (COAS), Qamar Javed Bajwa.
The two sides deliberated on matters of mutual interest and regional security situation. Both the sides also deliberated on Afghan Peace Process. Qamar Javed Bajwa highlighted the importance of peaceful and prosperous Afghanistan to the Chinese counterparts. In talks with the Chinese counterparts, he conveyed the need for a convergence in rebuilding the Afghan society.

Army Chief, Bajwa congratulated the Defence Attachee Major General Yang Yang on his new appointment. He also auded the efforts of the previous Defence Attachee.
The visiting dignitaries expressed their gratitude by thanking Cheif of Army Staff for the special measures taken to develop the CPEC projects in Pakistan. Pakistan’s efforts in promoting regional stability and providing a safe and secure environment in the development of CPEC was also lauded by the Chinese dignitaries.
