Port Louis, 11 August 2021 (TDI): The new Chinese Ambassador to Mauritius, Zhu Liying met with the Prime Minister of Mauritius Pravind Kumar Jugnauth on Monday at the New Treasury Building in Port Louis.
The Ambassador of China made a statement after the meeting in which he briefed about his fruitful conversation with the PM. He stated that both sides discussed areas to enhance bilateral ties and increase cooperation in the fields of culture, tourism, health, and COVID19 during the meeting. Climate change, environmental protection, and the prospect of collaboration in the industrial sector were also discussed in the meeting, the ambassador added.
China and Mauritius have a long history of friendship, and China has aided Mauritius’ economic and social development, as well as helped the state in its fight against the pandemic. The Ambassador also informed that China and Africa at the end of 2021 will collaboratively organize the Sino-African summit, where Mauritius and other African states will get a platform to develop ties with China.
