Chinese Ambassador attends CPEC B2B Investment Conference

Islamabad, 24 December 2021 (TDI): Ambassador of People’s Republic of China (PRC/China), Nong Rong attended the CPEC Industrial Cooperation Business-to-Business (B2B) Investment Conference. The conference was held virtually to discuss business and investment opportunities in Pakistan.

Agenda of Industrial Cooperation Conference

The Industrial Cooperation Conference discussed the scope of industrial collaboration under the umbrella of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). Speaking on the said scope, Muhammad Azfar Ahsan, the Chairman of the Board of Investment highlighted that CPEC being all-inclusive is open to third-party participation.

It was also underscored in the B2B Conference that invited businessmen from across the globe, particularly from China are welcome to invest in diverse sectors of the economy of Pakistan.

The participants were apprised about various investor-friendly policies introduced by the government including the construction sector policy, electric vehicle policy, and mobile manufacturing policy.

Pakistan has a Liberal Investment Regime

Muhammad Azfar Ahsan pointed out that “Pakistan has a liberal investment regime”. Moreover, he also spoke about the “Pak-China B2B Investment Portal”. The Portal was developed to generate prospects of joint ventures between traders of China and Pakistan.

Fareena Mazhar, the Secretary of the Board of Investment also spoke on the occasion. She underlined that the government of Pakistan has treated both foreign and local investors equally and there are plentiful opportunities for foreign enterprises to invest in multifarious domains as repatriation of investment and profit has been authorized with legal protection.

The virtual conference was also attended by the Ambassador of Pakistan to China, Moin ul Haque. The agenda of the conference was to promote B2B cooperation between China and Pakistan.
