Chinese Amb. met with Malta’s Transport Minister

St. Julian, 4 August 2021 (TDI): Yu Dunhai, the Ambassador of China to Malta, met with Dr. Ian Borg, Minister for Transport, Infrastructure, and Capital Projects, in Malta and discussed multiple affairs of common interest.

Beijing and Valletta are mapping out opportunities for further enhancing bilateral relations.
The Ambassador of China to Malta said in a tweet today, “It was a great pleasure to meet with Hon. Ian Borg, Minister for Transport of Malta. We discussed a variety of issues, seeking opportunities to further our friendly bilateral relations.”

Since 1972, the two countries have enjoyed good diplomatic ties based on national mutual interest and people-to-people relations. Malta and China, both have benefited from this steady progress of bilateral relations. In 2018, both states enhanced their cooperation by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).
