Peshawar, 12 February 2022 (TDI): China Window, a Chinese cultural and information center in Peshawar celebrated a colorful new Chinese year and spring festival in Peshawar.
This celebration was celebrated with music, pomp, and show. A large number of people attended the festivities while chanting slogans of ‘Pak Cheen Dosti Zindabaad (Pak-China friendship long live).

The one-day celebration was formally inaugurated by the Additional Chief Secretay of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Shahab Ali Shah. The cake cutting ceremony to cut the Chinese New Year cake was held by the newly elected Mayor of Peshawar, Haji Zubair Ali.

A large number of people from different walks of life attended the festival. Addressing the audience, the Additional Chief Secretary said that there is a never-ending friendship bond between Pakistan and China which is getting stronger with passing time.
Shahab Ali Shah said that both the leaders of China and Pakistan reaffirmed their commitment to further deepen the Pak-China friendship during the recent visit of Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan to China.
He said today through this one-day festival, the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in Peshawar are sending a message of good wishes to their Chinese brothers and sisters on the occasion of New Year.
He said that the role of the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to strengthen the Pak-China friendship is perfectly reflected through this colorful event held at China Window.
A large number of significant personalities were present on the occasion. On the occasion of Chinese New Year, Haji Zubair Ali termed the celebration as very important and called it a perfect example of Pak-China friendship at people to people level.
He said that every Pakistani is proud of China’s support and the way it has stood by Pakistan in every difficult time. The newly elected mayor said that Peshawar would once again become a city of flowers and peace with full support from China.
