China to do its utmost to help Pakistani people: Wang Wenbin

Beijing, 27 September 2022 (TDI): Wang Wenbin, the Spokesperson of the Foreign Ministry of China stated that “China has rushed to Pakistan’s aid as its genuine friend and brother in times of need.”

This statement was made at the daily regular press conference in response to a question regarding the Secretary of State of the United State (US), Antony Blinken calling on Pakistan to seek debt relief from China.

Antony Blinken urged to do so, so that Pakistan can recover from the floods. Ever since Pakistan came under the onslaught of the unprecedented natural catastrophe, China has been standing by Pakistan in its hour of need.

Along these lines, the Chinese government has provided humanitarian assistance of approximately 400 million RMB. Likewise, the civil society of China has also been forthcoming to help the affectees.

Wang Wenbin reiterated that China will persist to do its utmost to help the Pakistani people reconstruct their homes and overcome the floods at an early date.

He went on to enunciate that Pakistan and China have had beneficial financial and economic collaboration and the “Pakistani people know it best.”

Furthermore, he urged the US to take actual action that will help the people of Pakistan “instead of passing unwarranted criticism against China-Pakistan cooperation.”

Chinese military aircraft have been delivering tents and other flood relief to the people in the affected areas. Aside from that, China has promised $14.5 million in aid to Pakistan.

China-Pakistan Ties

China and Pakistan have a long-standing, close camaraderie. The two nations have benefited from their long-standing relationship. The core of bilateral relations continues to be a close similarity of viewpoints and shared interests.

Chinese and Pakistani militaries are closely linked. Moreover, Pakistan and China have collaborated to boost regional stability. Pakistan has been a significant commercial partner for China.

A free trade agreement has been reached, and economic trade between Pakistan and China has recently increased. China has also pledged to enhance its investment in Pakistan’s infrastructure and economy under the CPEC.
