Islamabad, 6 May 2023 (TDI): Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Qin Gang conducted a joint press conference in Islamabad earlier today. This conference was conducted after the 4th Pak-China Foreign Ministers’ Strategic Dialogue.
This joint press conference was arranged to highlight the outcomes of the strategic dialogue and discuss the growing partnership between Pakistan and China.
The two foreign ministers emphasized the importance of regional stability and peace and reiterated their commitment to the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
They also discussed the situation in Afghanistan and agreed on the need to maintain peace and harmony.
Foreign Minister Qin is on his first official visit to Pakistan for two days, May 5–6, which will conclude today.
During the visit, he met with the President of Pakistan and various high officials of Pakistan. FM Gang also co-chaired the 4th Pakistan-China Foreign Ministers’ Strategic Dialogue along with his Pakistani counterpart.
He will also take part in the trilateral conference of the Foreign Ministers of Pakistan, Afghanistan, and China.
Pakistan’s Foreign Minister welcomed the Chinese Foreign Minister. He praised the 72 years of friendship between Pakistan and China and expressed his gratitude for China’s unwavering support for all core issues of national interest.
He also said that Pakistan supports China’s “One China Policy” and supports China on all core issues of its national interest, including Taiwan, Xinjiang, Hong Kong, and the South China Sea. He also underlined the importance of CPEC and mentioned that it is a win-win project for all investors.

Foreign Minister Bhutto added that Pakistan wants to remain out of block politics and the great power game around the globe. Pakistan looks forward to working with all countries for better connectivity and peace in the world.
The Chinese Foreign Minister thanked Pakistan for its warm welcome and said that the China-Pakistan friendship is irreversible.
China is committed to further strengthening its ties with Pakistan and will continue to support Pakistan on all issues of national interest.
He also showed his interest in enhancing cooperation in the fields of trade, investment, and defense.
In summary, the Pakistani and Chinese Foreign Ministers discussed the importance of maintaining peace and harmony in Afghanistan and praised the longstanding friendship between their countries.
Pakistan expressed its support for China on various core issues, including the One China Policy, and emphasized the significance of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). They both agreed to work towards better connectivity and peace in the world.
