China, Japan, South Korea discuss regional & global shifts


Busan, 27 November 2023 (TDI): On Sunday, the foreign ministers of China, Japan, and South Korea met in Busan, South Korea, to discuss regional and global issues.

Wang Yi, who is also a senior member of the Communist Party of China, said that the three countries should take a more active role in advancing development in the region and the world. He said that the world is facing unprecedented changes and a slow economic recovery.

Wang said that the cooperation among China, Japan, and South Korea is the most institutionalized, comprehensive, a and  and substantive multilateral framework in East Asia.

He said that this cooperation has helped the three countries develop and benefited the people in the region.

Wang also said that China will follow its policy of being friendly and cooperative with its neighbors.

He said that China will work with South Korea and Japan to keep the trilateral cooperation on track, and to promote the stability and sustainability of the development.

Wang added that this will also make new contributions to the peace and prosperity of the region and the world.

He emphasized that the most important thing is to keep respecting each other’s choices and vital interests, deal with sensitive issues carefully, and maintain healthy relations between the two countries.

To keep up the pace of regional economic integration, improve the regional free trade arrangements at different levels and channels, and work towards the shared goal of establishing a Free Trade Area of the Asia-Pacific.

Wang said that the three countries should enhance their scientific and technological innovation, increase their cultural exchanges, boost their development resilience, and foster common and sustainable development.

Park and Kamikawa praised the achievements made in China-Japan-South Korea cooperation, saying that the three countries are close neighbors who cannot be separated and trilateral cooperation has great importance and great potential.

They said that in the face of the new situation, the three countries should recall the original intention of cooperation, improve their communication and advance their cooperation In various fields, and bring more concrete benefits to the people of the three countries.

Wang said that the three countries should follow the concept of security that is common, comprehensive, cooperative, and sustainable, and resolve their differences and disputes through peaceful means, dialogue, and consultation.
