Floods in Pakistan
Floods in Pakistan have killed 1,569 persons since June 14, 2022. Heavy monsoon rains and melting glaciers following a severe heat wave produced floods, all of which are linked to climate change.
It is the deadliest flood in the globe since the 2017 South Asian floods, and it has been labeled as the worst in the country’s history.
Because of the flooding, Pakistan announced a state of emergency on August 25. The flooding has caused the Pakistani government to predict damages of US$40 billion.
