China denounces propaganda against CPEC

-

Beijing, 1 December 2021 (TDI): China has rejected the propaganda against the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

On 29 November 2021, in the regular Chinese Foreign Ministry press conference, an Indian journalist pointed out the alarming situation in Gwadar where locals were protesting against excessive fishing licenses given to Chinese trawlers. Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Wang Wenbin replied that he was not aware of the situation.

On 30th November 2021, once again in the regular press conference of the Chinese Ministry, a news agency inquired about the situation in Gwadar where locals protested against excessive fishing licenses given to Chinese trawlers.

Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Zhao Lijian rejected the claims made by the news agency. He stressed that the anti-China report made by certain media is false and groundless. He stated that the news agency should avoid making fake news.

Chinese Foreign Ministry declared that there are no Chinese Trawlers harboring in Gwadar

Zhao highlighted that there has not been any protest against the Chinese trawlers neither there are any Chinese trawlers harboring in the Gwadar port. He pointed out that the CPEC project is clearly for the development of the people of Pakistan. It is aimed to help the locals and to provide them employment opportunities, he added.

The Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson stated that China upholds the principle of mutual respect. China will never do a thing that can harm the relations of the two ironclad friends, he added. He highlighted that China always works under mutual consultation and avoids unilateral actions. He stressed that anti-CPEC propaganda will never be successful.

Zhao stated that some media outlets want to make the CPEC controversial. They will not be successful. He rejected the false reports by declaring that the CPEC has helped the socio-economic situation of Pakistan. He underscored that Gwadar will become a hub in the coming years and will provide numerous employment opportunities to the locals for their well-being.

CPEC has been working under the Chinese vision to improve the livelihood of Pakistani people and to enhance economic cooperation between China and Pakistan. Since its launch, it has faced foreign propaganda that wanted to destroy the reputation of the CPEC. China and Pakistan have rejected the propaganda by stating that CPEC is win-win cooperation for both sides and it aims to strengthen the economic condition of Pakistan.
