Beijing, 1 December 2021 (TDI): China has recommended four proposals for the success of the Iranian Nuclear Deal.
Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Wang Wenbin in the Chinese Foreign Ministry’s regular press conference on 29 November 2021 stated that China has made 4 proposals on the resumption of the Vienna Talks to make it successful. Wang Wenbin stated that the resumption of the Vienna negotiation is the result of the continuous efforts of all the parties.
The talks on the Iranian Nuclear Deal commonly known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) resumed on Monday, 29 November 2021, after a break of 5 months. China appreciated the resumption of the talks and proposed 4 suggestions in order to make the talks successful.
Four proposals by China
First, it urged the United States to remove the sanctions against Iran. Wenbin stated that the lifting of sanctions will make Iran fulfill its commitments to the JCPOA. He emphasized that all the sides should play their role in creating a comfortable environment for the talks.
Chinese second proposal for the success of the talks was to uphold multilateralism. Wenbin stressed that all the parties involved in the talks should respect the legitimate concerns of other parties. He urged the relevant parties to respect the Iranian legitimate rights of economic and trade cooperation.
Thirdly, China called the relevant parties to adopt pragmatic strategies to make the talks successful. Wenbin urged the parties to remain logical in the talks and should follow the flexible negotiations strategy for the peace and prosperity of the region.
The fourth and the last Chinese proposal for the Vienna Talks was that it stressed the relevant parties to stay committed to the political settlement of the issue instead of confrontation. He stated that all the parties should safeguard the negotiation process by staying committed to the diplomatic resolution.
Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Wang Wenbin stated that China will continue to promote multilateralism in the world. He said that China is committed to creating a safe and comfortable environment to bring the JCPOA on the right path. China will continue its efforts for constructive cooperation between the parties for the success of the negotiations, he added.
JCPOA is an agreement on the Iranian Nuclear Deal between Iran and P5+1 countries which consists of China, the USA, Russia, France, the UK, and Germany. It was signed in 2015 but in 2018, the US withdrew from it unilaterally. The revival of the talks in Vienna under the new leadership in Iran and the US has given hopes to the success of the JCPOA which will create peace and stability in the region.
