Islamabad, 31 May 2022 (TDI): China Cultural Center in Pakistan has organized online activities for the month of June. The 1st day of June is observed as International Children’s Day.

In this context, the China Cultural Center wishes all the children in the world luck and happiness. Moreover, 3rd June is considered to be an important traditional Chinese holiday i.

e. the Dragon Boat Festival.

The Dragon Boat Festival is a traditional Chinese holiday occurring on the fifth day of the fifth month of the Chinese calendar. Usually, it corresponds to late May or June of the Gregorian calendar.

To celebrate the China Cultural Center will introduce some stories about this holiday. Aside from that, there will be two traditional 24 Chinese solar terms in June. They are “Grain in Ear” and “Summer Solstice”.

The Center in Pakistan will continue to launch online events presenting these two solar terms. Additionally, an 8-episode documentary series will be launched reflecting China’s intangible cultural heritage crafts.

It will be filmed by Chinese post-80s and post-90s generations. The film will have Chinese traditional handicrafts as the starting point.

It takes 12 months along with traveling tens of thousands of kilometers to more than ten Chinese cities and provinces.

These include Suzhou in Jiangsu, Hangzhou and Longquan in Zhejiang, Ningde and Fuzhou in Fujian, Shigatse, Lhasa, and Mount Everest in Xizang, Beijing, Shanghai, and Antarctica, and Zhengzhou in Henan.

The objective is to truly record more than ten national intangible cultural heritage inheritors as well as family heirs.
